Slightly edited version for Yerf. I did this one for FC this year. The white Cheetah, a rare jewel. Markers and Paint on 11 x 14 bristol board. (Non edited print on Furbid... 1081563158)
I musta rode the "Nightmare before Christmas" Themed Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland a dozen times before my season pass expired in November. Normally, I think the Haunted mansion is cheesy and occultic (blech!), but Tim Burton's touch turned it into an artistic masterpiece (and is even scarier and more sinister then the normal haunted mansion). So I felt compelled to draw Blizzard and I, Nightmare before Christmas styled. It's an interesting scratchy style...I don't think I did it justice though. I do like the colors.
My commission for OffCentaur is finally finished! Yaaaay! This is his farm, (well, at least the way I imagine it), the draft horse Olga, and the resident family of foxes, out by the stream. It took me a long time to get the stream to look reflective. Done in Colored pencils and prismacolor markers. I wish the scan was better. Also, today is officially Kate's Birthday! Happy Birthday Kate! It only comes around once every 4 years!
Long before the Carspeckens, there was Oz Fox from Stryper. I do believe it was Alberto Gomez who asked in 1998 "Where is Stryper?" You can go HERE: http://www.stryperexpo.com to find out. This pic is prismacolor markers and pencils, with a photoshop background. It is Oz Fox, lead guitarist of Stryper, holding up one of them little bibles that they used to toss into the crowd at concerts. And Earl Bacon, I do believe he wants to ask Cassie Vixen out on a date, if she's available. They'd make a cute couple. ;)
An "Indian" sort of design for a pine marten. (The term indian used rather loosely.) It's up climbing the trees in a twisty turny sort of pose that only a furry slinky out of the weasel family could achieve. Done in prismacolor pencils and markers. The original sold at CF11 art show.
I had deleted this from my account a while ago, but now I want to add it back....because he's cool. He was a character I designed in college, well before I even KNEW about furry fandom. Rasta toucan! Or is it Rastacan? Blech. Who knows.
If Kat thought HER gift was late, this one takes the cake. This birthday gift was given to Rayce in the form of a free commission coupon over 3 years ago. It took him a while to redeem it, then it took me another 2 years to actually DO it. Yikes. Luckily, this doesn't happen very often. (Poor Maurice, the other case. I WILL finish! Honest!) Anyway, happy birthday Rayce!
Well, here it is again...was lost due to a problem on Yerf...Commission for Reto Roth of his characters Shamira the skunk and Abakan the Squirrel with their tiger friend in the rainforest. Done in gouche, marker and colored pencils. Intense color!!
Rosa, a dhole / simian jackal mix. This is edited for Yerf. I like the edited version better. I don't think I'll ever upload the non-edited version. Or draw that again. Whew. What was I THINKING?
This is a cover for a friend at work daughter's water polo team program book. They are the Griffins. I had typed a longer desc, but it got erased and I am mad now. Questions about the pic or the weird colors and gear? email me.
A pin-up of a surfer cougar. Based on my black and white pic that was published in the 2003 Radio Comix issue of Hit the Beach. Now on Furbid too. (1081573499)
A quickie pencil sketch/photoshop coloring of a Sabretooth Jaguar...thing. Rawr! Done at work during my free time. Now, back to Colonial America...sigh.
The winner of my badge auction a few weeks ago was Sailorcoon. And here is his badge! The actual raccoon was done with prismacolor markers and gouache, and the type and background were added in Photoshop. That's a sextant he's holding (The handle is in a weird spot). It's used to navigate at sea by the stars, and was VERY hard to draw. Hey, it's not a feather or a "spirit staff!" Be happy.
Last of the insects I am uploading. Oh, there's a lot more, but I think only Gryllus would appreciate seeing ALL of them. So, enough bugs from me for a while.
Well, I thought this lil' couple was adorable. Apparantly, the fans at FC did not though, since this 11 x 14 marker and colored pencil piece didn't even receive one bid. Funny thing though, we ended up selling it to one of the hotel staff members after the end of the Con, who eagerly purchased it for his young daughter's room. Oooookkkk....
A portrait of Reto Roth's Shamira! I tried to go for balanced color here, but I think my scanner ate some of the subtleties. Oh well. She's eating a neon lemon lime swirly pop. whoo!
My half of an art trade with Silverfoxx! That's a Hookah, a middle eastern TOBACCO pipe. It's not a "wow-groovy-see-the-pretty-colors-bong". Although I must admit, I do not advocate smoking any substance, as it usually leads to cancer. (My grandpa died of lung cancer....) But this was such a neat pic to do. (Inspired by Xena's Lebanese Cuisine Restaurant out here in Orange.)
Ok, I decided to get in front of the mirror and draw my outfit, folds and all. I like results! Skillet is SUCH an awesome band. ("I'm Invincible" is the name of their latest album.)
A luxurious snow leopard harem female that I drew as a gift for Shyfox...who should have received it by now. Tassels! I love tassels! (Prints of this are available on Furbid for those interested.)
After seeing all the other gorgeous bathing beauties strut their stuff on yerf, Staci Squid is not to be outdone! She does a strip tease with her teeny weenie yellow polka dot bikini! SEXY! (And kudos to Cindy, Jen and Susan for their great pics!)
This is a commission of StreamPaw, the purple otter. His creator wanted 5 different poses on one sheet of paper...whew! Lotta detail to squeeze in. So the scan sorta loses some of the smaller stuff, sorry. (this is originally 11 x 14). Marker and colored pencil.
