I was hired at the arboretum to do 'interpretive work' i.e. illustrations of native animals to display out in the gardens. Here's one of the critters they have me drawing, a fence lizard, aka 'blue-belly'. It was difficult drawing the markings off photos from the web, so I went out and caught one. Unfortunately (for me anyway), he escaped and was roaming my apartment for a brief while, found, then finally released the other day when I finished up the drawings for this particular plaque. :P
