Well, it took me three years, but I finally did it. 50 pictures on Yerf. Sorta. This is Justin, the guy from my last upload. In real life, he's only COLOUR blind. After discovering I didn't completely suck at drawing wings, I drew him as an angel, forgetting about Lisa Payne's Dawn the Blinded Angel character. She said she didn't mind if I posted this, so here it is. He won't be an angel in subsequent pictures. This picture is probably also a tribute to the awesome Javachickn. I guess I'll go and listen to the Fall some more until my brain rots.
Whoa. Hi. I haven't been here in a while....my email finally works, yay! Anyway, this is another C-mas present for some relatives that I'd neglected to scan/upload till a while ago.
"Bitter Buffalo" (guess the song I swiped that from and win a cookie). Never drawn a buffalo/bison before, so what the hell. Also another experiment with mixing colour. I think I've learned not to be so afraid...you'll never run out of time if you stop wasting it.
*deep breath* ...um. Okay. Fun with vectors. I drew this back in August and finally got around to finishing it over the course of the past week. Yes, so, I haven't done a vectored pic since...'bout April 2002. Whoa. The line is from the first Modest Mouse song I ever heard. But, I barely know what Isaac Brock looks like, so this prob'ly doesn't look like him (as a mouse...)
If you never have to dress up, it seems appropriate to do the opposite. P.S. -- I don't do free requests. If you really, really want one, email me and ask for a copy of my supertough song quote game. :P
Eh, may as well upload this stuff now. Cedric being indie-like...if such a thing is possible..vector-traced in Illustrator 8.0 and coloured in Photoshop 5.0, because I haven't done a computer coloured pic in ages.
I cannot stop listening to the new Fugazi album. It has eaten my braaaainn. Case in point: Cedric is eating an icecream cone in the dead of winter, I still didn't use watercolour paper, and the clock tower has some serious issues. Boo-yah.
I got a Wacom for my birthday. Unfortunately, I can't draw with it; all I can do is scribble. So I'm only colouring pictures for now -- this is one of Cedric that I wasn't even gonna finish because his arms are too short, but other than that it's okay. (D'oh, almost forgot -- my website is now located at http://www3.sk.sympatico.ca/will01 for the time being -- FSN apparently deleted my site without telling me. That's what you get for using free webspace providers, I guess. :P)
Hey...there's a band called The Chameleons (UK). So, here... A band of chameleons...! I actually drew this about a year ago. I just couldn't colour it the way I wanted. But I finally did...in between drawing comic pages.. and trying to get stuff circulating in fanzines...woo! Life is good..
inkwashed comic panel that i kinda like...from yet another comic (just for fun) that'll probably never be finished! Yay! i know the perspective is off, and i also know i can't write...which is prob'ly why i never finish my comics. but i still like to do comics because my comic pages always come out so much better than my regular pictures, for some reason.
ATTENTION: In lieu of some recent computer problems and a number of other things, I no longer have internet access. Reach me at [email protected] till I get things sorted out. Anyhoo, this is a C-mas present for my aunt & uncle who both love fishing. Also -- I can't do any more trades or requests. I'll finish the ones I have, but that's it. Sorry!
Because no one demanded it, the White Stripes, last seen in the background of self02.jpg, get their own picture, rendered in two amazing colours. Why? I have no idea. Yeah, I know the perspective's kinda wacky; I like this otherwise.
On July 3rd, at exactly 11:30 PM, I will turn 16. In other news, I am seeing Fugazi tomorrow. Yay. Here's an Illustrator doodle of DLM. She's a pirate. Arrrh mateys. Did you know that "evolution" is only a euphemism for selling out? It's true.
Yerf's back! Rock. And roll. This is a drawing of Hack, Billy, and Cedric as Thee Headcoats (not really actually, but it would be cool if it was). What with all this garage revival, I'm wondering when the hell Billy Childish is gonna get some recognition. This isn't finished yet, but it should be soon.
"A bobblehead doll? Who needs that?" ...uhh. Kay. This is a sketch of DLM, made to demonstrate the principle of "Headbanger Syndrome". Or "Bobblehead Syndrome", whichever you prefer. I don't usually do this when I'm wearing headphones, but I ALWAYS do it in the car. Hell, sometimes I do it when I'm not listening to anything at all, and I don't even listen to so-called "headbanger" music. Yiiee.
Aw, what th' hey...Kasedries for the trading post. I dunno, something about his description just screamed "SHOEGAZER!!!" at me. This is the very first thing I've ever physically DRAWN with my Wacom that I actually like. But, the body of the guitar (Les Paul) is upside down. D'OH. So, you could guess whose song that is if you really wanted, and get another cookie to go with your "bitter buffalo" one. Yeah..
I saw a raver girl at the Fugazi show wearing socks like the guy in this picture, except they were knee-high. She frightened me. But her socks were cool. I rather like cel-style colouring, though I need more practise with it. Anyway, I've been thinking of doing commissions, because 1) I need new challenging things to draw, and 2) I need money to fuel my indie music addiction. If you're actually interested, drop me a line. Ta ta.
