- This is a fairwell gift to a faculty member who's retiring at the end of this year. To spend all her days eating bon bons, reading, and drinking mint tea...lucky..
- A couple of drawings I will paint and ink later. Scapino acting all showy with a bunch of acrobats in the background.
- Hello. I am reuploading this because I am an idiot. Very very sorry. Yeesh.
- wish I could do that.
- Arlecchino character sheet. Possible padding under the costume, features without the mask, and himself being a typical idiot in the top corner.
- Arlecchino and a li'l bit o' heaven. Oh what rapture.
- ..And Jefferson Airplane has been stuck in my head all day..argh. Happy Valentine's Day, everybody. There will be crew treats in the costume shop today. For some this day means love, for others its cookies!
- Drawn on brown paper with a dressmaker pencil during a crew break. Batten Plumb dinking off on his free time. Though the characters haven't really developed much, he's becoming a favoriteof mine. Must be the nifty hat.
- Brighella. He, um, beats people up...:)
- Brighella is the interesting panther with the big moustache and Pulcinella is the big ugly bird. They're just a couple of rogues who like to mess with people. Like throwing they're luggage into the canal. Not very nice guys I'm afraid.
- This sketch is done on the same paper we pattern all of our costumes on. I took a bunch of this stuff down to work in the laundry room one night and let the intoxicating effect of dryer sheet smell take its effect. Welcome to Loopy Land.
- Ah! A face! A pear! A Misplaced Hand! It must have some deep symbolic meaning! Nah. I've lost my mind. I accidentally bleached it in the washing machine.
- Nope, still haven't dropped it. Two more, and I promise to be done with it. Don't know if anyone can tell whats going on here. I can't. But look at all the happy little pencil marks!
- Itsa Bacchae! A reveler of the god Dionysus. The kind that likes to run crazy through the woods shaking branches and attacking cattle. Whoo-hoo.
- Well, my creativity flow has hit rock bottom, hasn't it? Maybe I should limit the caffeine intake. Sad thing is I accually had to find a can of pop to figure out how to spell that word.
- Columbina, bringing tea. Let's see, what else..she's wearing pocket panniers. Not a helpful description..
- This would be my first upload as a free agent. I figured I'll keep it straight forward. This is a cat rather idly named Scapino. He typically doesn't wear breeches and tricorns, he has a more specific costume, but Georgian fashion has been tainting my work as of lately. Could be worse, there could be a powdered wig involved.
- Anthropomorphic interpretation of the poet inspired by his INFERNO. He probably wouldn't have approved.
- Traditionally every troupe had its musician. Coviello, here, fills the role. This is the character design from last year. Now his costume is all black with silver trim. Here he looks like a baton twirler on the 4th of July. Sorry about my pen exploding all over the drum, but I didn't really have the heart to erase it. Gives it that messy trait that all my art seems to be plagued with.
- Fun with Fish..One should try to imagine Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring" playing in the background..Scaramouche doesn't get it. Can't say I do either.
- An akwardly perched flapper cat in a noisy cabaret. All attempts at coloring it have gone awry, and I've settled for plain ol' black and white. Oh well.
- Another FUNDIES bit..t'is possible?
- Cramped Quarters, eh? Yuck yuck. Woo.
- Boy, I hate it when that happens..
- Character concepts for a strip titles "FUNDIES". 10 freshmen in a theatre arts program fulfilling their requirements in scenery, lighting, and costume. A dangerous world of table saws, industrial sergers, 30 foot drops, and electric shock. Will they make it to the next Friday Beers alive? No. no reference to real life whatsoever.
- Pencil Death Mind Ray
- Beware of falling objects. rappelling riggers are no exception. Yup.
- It's only funny if you haven't actually seen it. Featuring Wally the Spaniel, and Bert the lion.
- Part 1 of 2. A FUNDIES comic featuring Yalta Emgree. The punchline is one the second page..
- Part 2 of 2. A FUNDIES comic I divided in half so one could actually read it. It's a noisy comic, I guess.
