"The Owl King" - The king of owls practicing his magick. By the way, that's a Luna Moth--not a butterfly. (Butterflies don't have featheresque antennae.) Besides, a Great Horned Owl conjuring up butterflies wouldn't be very fitting. The owl is also wearing the feathers of a Red-tailed Hawk, its daytime, or solar balancing raptor.

The messy process of creating creatures! Here are some concept drawings of war gryphons. I tried to get back some of the lost shadows after the scan, but had some trouble--therefore some of the darker areas in the piece may look a tad light on brighter monitors. The gryphon in the upper right hand corner totally appears to be saying, "LUKE, I AM YOUR FATHER."
