- Some renderings of the Stewart model I made in Rhino3d. This was pretty fun and much easier than if I'd tried to do it in 3DStudio, but still a lot of work. Now if it'd just compile... Stewart is mine, © 2001 Brian Rogers
- I've got to reload WindowsNT on my system, so this may be my last upload for a while. Well, hopefully not, but these things don't tend to go very well... Anyway, this is an experimental pic I did on a rather smooth flight from Chicago to Denver last weekend. I kinda like the mood and the gritty, sketchyness of it.
- Guess what I've been using! I'm trying to get used to the nuances of the outrageous Fractal Design Painter5.0! A total remake of hmmm.jpg, this time in oil-painted color. A little more dark atmosphere this time, I think. As this is all very new to me, I'd really love any input/advice anyone has! Marcello Rupelli ©Brian Rogers
- Gotta love big blocks, blowers and lots of chrome! =) Something I kinda doodled at AC99. Obviously not done. Going for excessive detail.
- ...and I move on to Prismacolor pencils. This is my first real attempt at coloring something manually. Also tricked the sanner into working for me. Coloring by hand is still a bit rough..
- My tribute to one of THE coolest cars ever built. Killed to satisfy the trend for four wheel drive trucks as of 12/13/1996. Partly inspired by something FlaFox said the other day. Pen and ink, color in Photoshop and Painter. Image © 1998 Brian Rogers
- Veronica and RazBerri finally end up in the same place and I don't think Veronica's impressed. Hope that's some smooth talking I'm doing there.
- My second pastel pencil trial. This is my lion character, Nevelle. These first two are before I messed with scanner settings.
- It's me! Or as close it I'll get, anyway. Not sure why, but I always drew Marcello with red hair, green eyes and w/o glasses. Huh. I should probably keep him this way. Hmmm, looks like an illegal two-handed rubber band shot at Hat in the near future... Why? Dunno, but I'm sure he deserves it!! - Got ambitious one night while chatting with RazBerri and decided to do some sketching. This is the better part of the result. Ambitious seems to be a relative term...

- The other sketch I did. From the same page as turbotpi. Marcello leaning on the door of a completely ficticious car. If I owe you a drawing, you'll have to be patient. It might take me a while to work out of this slump.
- I have the best timing... Tore a ligament in my thumb a couple months ago and it wasn't healing so they put it in a cast. Just in time for KainCon and AC99 =P My emailing may slow down from this(!?) I'm not bummed out like I look in the pic there, but it is annoying.
- This is me a) playing with perspective, and b) going for a more realistic style. Kinda like 'em both =)
- A page of deviant Marcellos. Kinda his current state of being. Mine too. I dig the one at the bottom, leaning on my car, cleaning his nails with a big dagger =)
- Yay! Tron is being released on DVD on the 19th in all it's widescreen, Dolby Digital glory! Here's a lightcycle I generated in 3D today. This doesn't work according to the movie, where they had the light staff before starting the cycle. Looks good, tho. Marcello Rupelli is a character of Brian Rogers; image © 1998 Brian Rogers. - Hehe, this is almost word-for-word a conversation I had with the very cool RazBerri the other day. Told her I'd do this, now I just hope she doesn't sue for defamation of character or something... Hope ya like it, Raz! Image © 1998 Brian Rogers
- The story of my life... If something is working perfectly, I'll try to make it better, faster, whatever. Inevitably this leads to the project at hand self-destructing. Ohwell... Here's an interesting comination of Photshop4, Painter5, and about 10 layers. Beleive it or not, the reflections were actually fairly easy this time. © 1998 Brian Rogers
- I was going to keep shading this, but would rather not screw it up =P Trying to use some reference photos to help with anatomy and proportions.
- Whee, sketches galore! New look for Marce, he's wearing a shirt! Hhmmm... I think he's grousing about the distinct lack of metalheads in Utah. Blind Guardian, AarRrr, yeah, rock!
- A typical sketch page of mine. Custom aluminum intakes, swords and Veronica. This is a slight redesign of Veronica. I like it. The sketch on the right is one of my favorites lately.
- I'm still working on getting more emotion and depth out of my drawings. This one is inspired by the lyrics in Nine Inch Nails' song "Something I Can Never Have". Done completely with a 0.5mm mechanical pencil. Lyrics © 1989 Trent Reznor/Nine Inch Nails
- Augghh!! Marcello is suffering a major brain cramp at his desk at work. It's a pretty good likeness of my desk, actually. Did this one night whille I was being tormented by not knowing anything but technical drawing. © 1998 Brian Rogers
- My attempt at doing a comic book style layout. Not much story as the name implies, but if anyone can figure a good last panel, I'd be most grateful =)
- I'm particularly proud of this one. Why? Cause I didn't think I could do it. Bit of a Marcello's-eye-view of the hood of a slightly damp '67 big block 'Vette. Trying to get as realistic as possible. The water droplets were the easiest part.
- 'Marcello The Painter' Pic of me painting my brother's Ford Contour last summer, just days before driving cross-country to KainCon. Working from a photo on this one. - More confused fur pics! More interesting Photoshop shading! More 3D models as backgrounds! Modeling was done about 2 years ago and rendered the other day on my ancient 3DStudio3. Gotta get that 3DSMax2 upgrade! Yeah, right, I'd have myself a Dolby Digital THX receiver for that much! Marcello and Veronica © Brian Rogers
- Picked up a new tablet so I could finally get some more color art done. I particularly like this funkily-lighted Veronica pic here. Wish I knew why she's grinning like that. Looks like she's up to no good again.
- My response to drezz.jpg Actually been done a while but something wasn't letting me upload. *shrug* Ohwell, here's the ever-beautiful RazBerri in some new attire =) Raz is ErinV's character, so uh.. yeah...
- My other "boredom on a Super80" sketch. Guess what I'm doing this winter! Sorry, the fluting on the drill bit is going the wrong way, I'll be more accurate next time ;) Somehow, I think this looks better sketched than it would in Photoshop.
