< 1/2— Corwyn Kalenda (Shadow 'n Smudge)
- Okay, so I get this really neat book on painting and drawing realistically. I do so at the suggestion of a couple artist friends (you know who you are, small foxkittish one). Then I read through some of it, and I draw an experimental picture, tryin' to apply the new knowledge. Then it's good, so I add some ground to stand on. Ground becomes rock, pond appears. brush grows up in the BG. And the pic, I see, is spiffy.
- I got bored this morning before work, and for some reason decided to do this sad attempt at Vix, partailly because it's not in my usual style (variety is good for the soul, you know), and partially just cause. Vix pretty much sums it up here, I think... *definitely* gotta spend more than a couple minutes on these 'boredom' pics... And, no, I didn't ask first. Sorry, but I needed to draw *now*, or something. Whatever. Vix is © that wonderful Frank Villareal guy, who is *way* too cool to be mad about the thrashing I gave Vix here (I hope).
- Well, not too bad, The Gerbil liked my pic. So that gives me permission to do another one, right? Right. And what does Vix think about that? Well, have a look. Vix, is, of course, © F. Villareal, and the pic is mine.
- An experiment on my part. I was trying to go for a realistic-type style. Seeing as how I'm still very much working on developing this, costructive criticism would be appreciated, even more than priase alone. :) Shadow and Smudge are © me, as if you didn't know by now. ;)
- A wandering warrior Panther on a cliff by the sea. The colored version of an earrlier pic. Leonid was good enough to help me out by doing the character color, then gave it ack to me to do a background. I think it's downright spiffy now. :) this is (C) me, exept the color which would be © Shawn Reed if color was copyrightable.
- Orville didn't think Highland dress woule work as well on him as it does for Smudge. Something about a kilt not working with a non-anthro bird... Well, I never said anything about *full* dress, did I? More prismacolor and technical pen fun. Orville's © his player, and the art's mine.
- I don't remember what I was thinking about exactly, but it occured to me that there's a lot of similarity between the clan structures of the Scottish Highlands and that of most dragons. And so, here we have Smudge of the Highlands, wearing a modification of a pair of styles popular in the 19th century or so. And in his clan tartan, no less. I spent a lot of time researching the tartan, and I'm about 90% sure that this particular one is not in use (I hope). I assure those in our midst of Scottish extraction that no harm is meant here. And, as always, Smudge is © myself.
- If there's one thing I've learned at my job in the school's IT department, it's that servers go down. All the time. It's rather inescapable. But occassionally, we wish that when a server does go down, it could be for more... therapuetic reasons. I presented this at work the other day, as a new 'public information' Form for when they go down. It got a laugh, and so will be enshrined in my computer abuse page, when I write it.
- A new, fully-functioning Yerf, a new sort of style for me. Yes, I've managed to cram a lot of stylistic development into the last couple months. A lot of it took place over the course of my vacation in NY in September. So here's the new incarnation of Shadow, based loosly off of Alucard from the Playstation's Castlevania game.
- A pencil drawing I did of Shadow a LONG time ago(could ya tell?). It's still a good one tho, so here it is. A note: Shadow is his FIRST name(sort of) a full name, and the one you'll find me under in FurToonia, would be Shadow Walker(Take a good look at my RL name, then go read Zelazny's Amber books- you'll see the reason). Shadow is © myself.
- Behold the Almighty Sharpie! Constructor of thick Black Lines! Layer of Black Ink that Flows like a River from its Magnificence! Stand in awe of it's Glory! Um... okay. ;) Obviously, I'm a demented individual who gets a kick out of Sharpie use. (Use, not Abuse, kiddies, remember that) Sharpies are © some pen company I don't remember, but the pic's all mine. :)
- You know.. there's nothing calculated to so ruin a space station's Chief of Engineering's day so much as a nasty slimey, be-tentacled alien beastie creeping about in a damaged spacecraft. The things simply can *not* behave themselves. Luckily, Skatt's got something to teach 'em manners with. Skatt and artwork, © myself.
- Wow... The last music-based pic got *tons* of reply mail. o.O Sorry if I haven't gotten back to you, but after a few, there were just too many to make replying to all of the mail reasonable. So I'm taking this opportunity to thank all of you who responded. And well, here's another one. Maybe a little harder, but I think it's still a giveway. Look at the pic, name the band, song title, and one line from the song. And if you can name a line from the album just after this, I'll likely draw you a pic :)
- I drew this a couple nights after meeting the infamous (and *VERY* cool) Spaceroo while in NY. It turned out rather nice, and I hope to color it someday when I've time. I feel it's another good example of how much better (or how static) I've gotten. Yeah, sure. Spaceroo's © his wonderful RL self.
- You know, people just don't draw *or* understand spiders. They're not all vicious blood-suckers, you know. Take this poor thing, f'r instance. A pretty brown spider, and all she wants is to share her beautiful web with someone... but no one ever wants to. *sniff* I get all misty-eyed just thinking about it. I'm such a bastard to my characters sometimes. The art's © me, in case you're asleep.
- Another one I've been promising to finish, and taking my sweet time about it. Inspired by the game where I first met Kilo and Leonid: Subspace (http://subspace.vie.com for details). This would be the three furry pilots standing on a landing field in flightsuits while a pair of Warbirds do a low fly-by overhead. Kilo smokes a victory cigar, while Leonid voices his opinion on the merits of his squad. Characters © their players and the pic © me.
- Eeeep! It's Sully's birthday?? Or was?? Why doesn' anyone ever tell me these things? (Darnit, I'm *always* the last to know ;) ) Heh, maybe if I was actually *active* on the archive for a change... :) Don't toss that party hat, yet Mister! There's still one very tardy fox on the way... (And for those of you who may be wondering why I haven't uploaded in a *long* time, check out my webpage to see what I've been up to :) Sully's © the very spiffy Scotty Arsenault.
- Computer abuse! Yes! Whoo-hoo! This comes after spending *far* too much time wheedling with one of said computers to get it to play nice. Another one for the archives. A co-worker wanted a print, and I could be persuaded to run off some extras for a nominal fee... Yeah, like you're gonna pay me for this. I'm sure. ;) The pic and unnamed characters'd be © me, except they're unnamed, so just the pic is, I think.
- Drew this last weekend while El Nino was a-knockin' on my window... I was inna pensive mood. Not depressed, mind you, because I don't think I've ever been in a state I would call depression, just pensive. It's a thought-provoking pic, not a depressive one, dammit! ;) The peom that inspired it is at the top corner... I can't remember who wrote it, but it would be © them, I guess. And I am © me. And the trees are © Momma Nature :) Anything else? Hmmm....
- Twohart the Kami-Werewolf (huh? No, I don't know what one is, either), a good artist friend of mine from TF&F, who was gracious enough to wait days for me to get around to drawing this, and then even longer for me to scan it. Oh, well. Twohart is © its player, and the pic is © me.
- An un-named character. He's been appearing in my notebooks at school, holding signs indicating what class each page is notes for, hence the signs. The first char I've done w/o benefit of reference lines or anything. I must be getting better! WHEEEEEEE!!!!! If you can come up with a name, lemme know, I can't. The Un-Named Wolf is (C) me.
- Sort of a neat idea... It's Laz dressed up to look like Citan, from Squaresoft's Xenogears, perhaps my favorite of their RPGs to date. It was a friend's idea, but I like it. Might do a series. Heh. Right. ;) Laz is © myself, Citan © Squaresoft, I'd imagine.
- Yep, that's basically how I felt after finishing up this particular piece. I had trouble believing I'd pulled it off at all, let alone at 11 o'clock at night. I can't usually draw that late. Happyhappyjoyjoy... I have *zero* clue what he's so pshyched-out over, but it must be pretty cool... The unnamed yet generally pleased with the world foxy-guy here is © myself, as is the picture.
