Somedays you have to stop and draw the vixens. ... The internet is fascinating, in that you can get photo reference for a steel guitar and a New England mountain in mere seconds.
It's Not the Living, It's the Being Lived On" featuring November Frost. original image 24"x36"x150dpi PSD file. This picture is dedicated to my sister, who saw a rough draft of this image in my sketchbook and said she really liked it. The electrical work in the background is a 'before' picture from a building rehab project. I saw it, and I had to use it. Numerous touchups with the stamp tool were necessary. This is also the first pic I made with my new tablet.
Rafferty sits on The Rock, contemplating the sea before him. Soundtrack by The Who on "Quadrophenia". I'm not sure if I want to color this one or not. Any suggestions?
Wyatt knew the job was trouble from the start. First, it took him out of town. Second, it was in Virgule, the city with the fascist cops and the insane cyberdeckers. And third ... well, he might not even get that far. Here he tangles with Virgule's Finest, the plainclothes Metro-cop November Frost. Maybe he can _talk_ his way out of this one. (Originally a 2556x1709 CMYK PSD file) You can read more about Wyatt in "Concerto", by Daniel R. Gill.
And as long as I'm showing the world how alive I still am ... here's a picture that has been often requested but not drawn until now. You know who you are.
"Skating Away on the Thin Ice of a New Day" featuring Rafferty the Transcendental Rat. Originally an 1800x1600 Lab Color TIFF, I've tried to use color correction to make this look better in 256-color mode.
"Rapacious the Dragon" in his formal wear. Transparent interlaced GIF Original image CDR vector file (resolution-independent) The unofficial mascot of Sanguine Productions Limited, Ray appeared in my very first animation, "The Trap", which came in Third Place at the 1991 Creative Arts show at Bowling Green, OH. (Incidentally, the winner of that show was 'Castle Doom', where I was a voice-actor and co-writer. Strange, huh?)
Heyo. I wasn't sure if anyone had ever submitted any pictures of vixens, so I drew a couple. This was an experiment with a roller-ball pen -- I don't think I'll be repeating the experience. Toes are also hard to draw ... but I think part of the point of illustration is to experiment with different stuff. ^.^ Today's music in the player: "Punk Lolita", by The Heads.
Ah, Masamune Shirow. In his 10-year retrospective "Intron Depot", Shirow constantly complains about his art, thinking he could've done this better, he could've shaded that more clearly, etc. In this way, we got lots in common. ^.^ For example, I think the robotic suit looks a bit more on the psychedelic side and not enough on the camoflague side. Oh, well. (Originally a 8"x10.5"x300dpixCMYK image file)
This was the alternative cover of "V is for Vixen", my first furry 'folio that is debuting at Albany Anthrocon. I'd like to thank Amanda "Ursula" Geyer for sacrificing a part of her precious sanity to help produce this portfolio. (Originally an 8"x10.5"x300dpixCMYK Photoshop file).
