This one's for Gene Catlow. It explains your popularity.
Thick paws can make problems.
My first picture of this kind. Who said that you need big breasts or lots of nudity for an attractive female?
This was just a quick doodle to see if I could draw a roo completely from memory. When it was finished, I thought it looked like someone known around furry space. So, with permission by his player, behold Spaceroo as a kid. Spaceroo © John Siemer.
I am a Gene Catlow fan. I like the art and the jokes. I also like drawing Gene. Let's celebrate the cat! Gene Catlow © Albert "I *really* don't know why I am so popular" Temple. Have fun!
I admit the big balloon was no good. So I'll resort to smaller fandom accessories. This is the last Catlow posting for now, again Gene Catlow © the charismatic Albert Temple. It is also the first public appearance of my character Arved (still not complete). I guess I have to make him more toon-like.
The second public Arved picture. Don't know what's happening to him, just thought that's a nice action pose suitable as a model sheet. It's also an experiment with dynamically inked lines.
Looks like summer has begun at last.
This idea came to me while listening to a famous Tchaikovsky suite. It's also my first PhotoShop colouring attempt. Warning: Image contains a 3C (cute classic critter). Comments anyone ?
Drawn while listening to Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake Suite".
Drawn after listening to Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake Suite".
An experiment with hatches. Furry art performance is difficult for me.
Jedd was the first one to draw me. He produced a very nice image of me which inspired me to change my looks a bit. I'd like to hang his picture on the wall, but I can't print it appropriately. This means there's only one solution! Jedd Marten © Al Jones.
The last image is a good candidate for colouring, but I need to exercise this first. Until I have a graphics tablet, here's a mousy-coloured part as a hint to what Arved's fur looks like.
You made me do it! I plugged it in! Gene Catlow © Albert Temple, Jedd Marten © Al Jones. Actually, this turned out far worse than I intended. I fear I've won the award for the most stupid and silly picture. Folks are going to shun me from now on (sigh).
The new hero's first strike! I guess the stuff that heroes are made from is not me... Gene Catlow © Albert "What will evolve from all this? Who knows..." Temple
I'm a bit late, but here we go again. Arved meets the Raccoon Kids, which are © Albert Temple and a lot of fun to draw. If only I didn't need so much time for that :o)
On their quest to eat all the chocolate in the world, the Raccoon Kids get a good start. Or don't they? Raccoon Kids © Albert "was there Swiss chocolate, too?" Temple.
My sister's going to marry this Monday, and I was put in charge to make the wedding newspaper. For the front cover, I tried to capture love and affection.
I felt we need a parody of "Starship Troopers". My apologies to those who like the movie. This inked version replaces the old pencil-only.
What do you do when you're sitting in a hotel room, the sea and 4000 miles separating you from home? You start reflecting past events, and then you pick up a pencil...
At last! It's Johnny Blanco in my first commissioned work. Hope you like it, Johnny! Unfortunately, the scanner was unable to get the details of the 11" by 14" original. Johnny Blanco © Thomas Riccardi. Oh yes, Merry Christmas ;o)
Actually, it didn't happen this particular way, but it could've... Sully Fox © Scotty Arsenault.
She has no name, she's female, she's a vixen, and she doesn't fit the stereotype. You shouldn't disagree with her. The picture is a bit flawed, but still conveys the message.
My response to Lysozyme's arved-lz.jpg (bows to him in reverence). I guess I got him all wrong ;o) Technical info: detailed layout sketch: 1 hour; Arved and organ console: clean pencil 4 hours, inking 1 hour; staring at Lysozyme's model sheets: 30 mins.; Lysozyme: clean pencil 2.5 hours, inking 30 mins.; Photoshop colouring: 5 hours. Furthermore, my psychiatrist says I cannot be held responsible for Arved's antics. Lysozyme © Juan Crespo.
In his non-morphic form, Arved gallantly thanks Shenandoah's player for the new look. Let's hope that Arved will not get into trouble now ;o) Shenandoah © Heather Riesen. Now look up her directory for some great art and to find out who's complaining from off-screen.
Introducing Snejinka, the Samoyed lady from Siberia. Her name means 'little snow flake' :o) She's © by me. Getting her look cute was quite some work. Like all Samoyeds, she's usually in a happy mood. She can get tough at times, though.
Look out for Bigears the fennec on FurryMUCK. Rating: cute and cuddly. Inked with a brush and then given life by the nifty colour work of that big blue froxie who was created by Karsten Auchter. Bigears is © Richard Story.
The first panel of my tiny first comic. Now that I see just how much work doing comics is, my respect for comic creators only increased. Mental note: must buy more comics. Yappy Holidays!
If you want to know what they are gaping at, find my two page Alaska comic through my home page :o)
