- A detail from one of my FC peices, showing some Amazonian griffins. I'm not 100% happy with how it came out, particularly the background. Oh well. Markers and colored pencil.
- Another FC picture, and another illustration of characters from the Alien Chronicles books. I didn't like how the picture of Israi (left) was done in the book. They made her look like some weird shriveled frilled lizard. So I did my version. Characters copyright Lucasfilms, yadda yadda yadda.
- A snow leopard/Amur leopard character from a story I'm eventually going to do. This is a detail from a much larger picture done for CF10. The character's name is Snow (real original, huh?) There's a yellow-throated marten in the picture as well, but he's not in this scan.
- A cat angel that seems to be pretty angry at someone. Done with ink and colored pencil on Canson paper.
- Some drawings I did to illustrate an article about Jack Salem's 'world', that was published in Yarf #28.
- Yet another picture from the article, this time of _Argentavis magnificens_, the Thunderbird. A book I read said they might have fed by swooping down on small mammals and swallowing them whole, but I find that hard to believe.
- A badge design. Unknown character and species, but I liked how the colors came out. Watercolor and ink.
- A color version of the picture I did for Radio Comix's Hit the Beach 2004. Ink & watercolor.
- Cover of BLACKLIGHT part 6
- My half of an art trade. Hand drawn and inked and colored in Photoshop.
- Begining my usual post-AC upload. This is an experimental picture done in a more realistic style than I usually use. A Pallas cat and her wolf patrol the edges of their territory. Don't expect to see too many other pictures like this from me; this took forever to do. Mostly watercolor & colored pencils, with some ink and acrylic.
- A commission of Simone, showing how she appears in both the Salem stories and in the City of Ice. Done in straight pen and ink.
- This is an illustration from "The Crimson Claw". It's for the Yarf! Anthropomorphic Bibliography, which should be published in January. This is just the plain inks--I'm going to do the B&W toning on the computer later, and I'll probably color up a version for the FCY2K convention. If you read the book you should be able to tell which scene this is, hopefully. The characters are copyright 1999 by LucasFilms, I guess.
- Since CF13 has come and gone, I guess it's safe to post this.
- A well-known cable TV personality makes the cryptozoological discovery of a lifetime! But will he live to brag about it?
- Chess, the musical. Original London cast, of course. I had no idea how many furs were fans of this show until I did this picture. I'm not 100% happy with how a couple of the characters came out, but it was the best I could do in the time I had. "Each game of chess means one less variation to be played. Each day got through means one less mistake to be made."
- Another commission; one of the more complicated pictures I've done recently. An illustration for a neat story running on the "Furry City" storyboard. Colored in Photoshop. The actual image was done 300 DPI and is much more detailed. I am now offically done with all my commissions, except for 2 relativly simple pinups. Stop me before I draw again....
- The third and final card I did for Rage. The Cockroach spirit totem of the Glasswalkers garou tribe. Working with lots of close-up photos of roaches, I remembered just how icky they really are...
- A weird Griffin-critter from CF5, using a rail front and a bobcat back. Scan done by Ron Johnson. Rail Griffin c.1998 Roz Gibson, if anyone cares
- A detail of a large cel painting I did for SDCC several years ago. The full picture was too big to put in. The picture was an experiment trying to put mammal colors on a bird. All those spots were a bitch to paint on a cel. Scan kindly provided by Onci.
- Vicki Fox commission. One of the ten or so commissions I'm slowly plowing my way through. Watercolor, inks and some colored pencil. Sorry for the small size of the image. Vicki Fox C. and TM by Michael Russell.
- Another commission. White squares are areas my scanner didn't cover. This was peiced together from about 5 seperate scans already. I like to work big. What can I say? Prismacolor markers and colored pencil. Chakat characters c. 2001 by Bernard Doove.
- This'll be the only badge I put up. Promise. Yet another commission. Watercolor and ink, with press-type used for the lettering, because my hand lettering is really crappy. Character c. 2001 by Carlos Casal
- Big Blue Fox run afoul of a bald eagle. Marker and colored pencil. The last of the commissions I'm posting. The rest either aren't Yerf-able, or are too large to do a good scan of. Big Blue Fox c. Karsten Autcher.
- A rough color test for one of my Further Confusion pictures (hence all the anti-aliasing) The final peice will be one of those painted animation cels. The dialogue was added after the fact, when I sent the picture to a friend as a joke. I'm not sure what they're *really* talking about, but whatever it is, Quinn doesn't look too happy about it.
- Inspired by reading the book "Dodo, a brief history" by Errol Fuller. A couple quick facts: there's no surviving stuffed specimens--any you might see are recreations. It took less than 100 years from first European contact to extinction. No one knows for sure what a dodo really looked like. Watercolor with digital effects.
- Uploading some fairly recent stuff in honor of Yerf being back. This is my part of an art trade with Ashley Revell, showing her Fuzz character being menaced by two famous literary moles. Flash 4 and Photoshop.
- A page (untoned) from the new Jack Salem comic I had at Anthrocon. Scan came out a bit pixelated, but it would have made the file too big to scan it at a higher res.
- Another picture from the extinct birds article, a New Zealand giant eagle attacking a moa.
- Nothing good can come of this scenario...
