- Ahhh, the noble cantelope! This majestic beast has been running around in my head ever sice Ursula V. posted those delici- erm, amazing fruitimals, or whatever she calls them. ...I don't know, it seemed like an obvious connection to me.
- 'Anubis' - 2003. The Egyptian god Anubis. The second piece of artwork from the set of three originals commissioned by Mrs Carole Jones, for her daughter Rachel's birthday. Mixed medium on Bristol board - A4. Artwork © Leona Preston 2003. (Used and posted with permission)
- 'Hathor' - 2003. The Egyptian goddess Hathor. The third piece of artwork from the set of three originals commissioned by Mrs Carole Jones, for her daughter Rachel's birthday. Mixed medium on Bristol board - A4. Artwork © Leona Preston 2003. (Used and posted with permission)
- 'Horus' - 2003. This piece is one from a set of three originals, commissioned by Mrs Carole Jones for her daughter Rachel's birthday. The other two in the set are 'Anubis' and 'Hathor', Egyptian deities, and were painted in the same style, consistent throughout each piece. I hid a piece of real papyrus somewhere in each picture. With the three pieces together, the characters face one-another, giving the impression that they are arguing over something trivial. Mixed medium on Bristol board - A4. Artwork © Leona Preston 2003. - I sing of the berserkers, beloved of the skalds and songsmiths, the great warriors of Thor's domain, smashers of Jotunheim, doers of deeds, wearers of weaselskins! Fearless in fighting, ruthless in raids, fleet of foot and fat of form, the brave berserk, the war-hardened servants of the war-god, the great Battle Hamsters of the North!
