One of my absolute favorite pieces to date. This is a collaboration I did with my dear friend Terry Wolfinger; I did the illustration and sketching, he laid in all the painterly colors. I love this piece :) Terry and I are like protective parents over this one, but I think we do well as a team :) And no, the sheep is NOT being eaten... he's being protected! A White Egret: This feather is extremely small (less than an inch and a half wide at its widest point!). What really took me some time on this piece was the hand-beaded base that goes all the way around the quill. From there dangles two additional strings of glass, sterling silver, and wooden beads, which ends in two tin cones and 7 inch long pieces of chocolate brown wild horse hair (I was told by a native american friend that wild horses have better magic). The scans/photos killed all the pretty colors I blended in with the white of egret, however. :-/

This is a commissioned feather painting. The two figures are under 4 inches high and only 3 inches wide!), but I'm really happy with how this turned out. The feather includes three small light blue real Swarovski crystals, a white rabbit fur bundle and four hide tassels, chocolate deerhide lacing, tin cones, and two strings of beads that include amthyst, jasper, frosted glass, and silver. There are also two hand-painted silver feathers to match the main feather. As always, if you're interested in a commission, give me a hollar!
