I've been a fan of Stan Sakai's work for about a decade now, although this is the only fan art I ever drew involving any of his characters. I liked how Usagi came out --- Stan's work provided excellent models to work off of --- by felt the horse was lacking. Maybe I should color this piece to give it some depth...

Oh, one thing these little mice didn't count on was Vix's little buddy Plum. While Stephen was fighting off Vix, the little penguin snatched Mary's Mantis during her laughing spell. Poor Mary, now she has to chase after him all by herself. He's pretty fast for a little guy huh? Mary and Stephen are Mary Minch's characters.

Ever feel kind of blue for no apparent reason? I realized I hadn't hand shaded a drawing in a long time. So how do I go about doing it? I stippled it. I forgot how painstaking stippling is, but what are ya gonna do once you've started... this is a little smaller than full sized to give you an idea :)
