Jeff Darlington (Apocalypse Pete) —2/2 >
- Another Wally inspired pic. A badger monk, and his pious little mouse friend, sharing a spiritual moment. This one really surprised me; I usually don't say I love one of my own pictures, but this one I think I might.
- See, it *CAN* draw in color. It just usually doesn't have time. This is the same badger from badgmonk.jpg, name Brother Badger, and this is a preliminary sketch for a children's book my friend Wally and I are working on. It's been a long time since I've used my Prismacolors, and it shows.
- Hey! Lookit! Jeff actually uploaded something! For my first upload of the year, here's a rather cute individual that popped out of my pencil. Be careful, I think he's hungry...
- After logging much time in PSP to digitally remove the lined-paper lines on this one, I thought it good enough to upload. This is a villian in one of my non-furry superhero universes. (Long story.) I like the body definition in this one.
- And here's what happens when you're supposed to be paying attention in meetings at work. Meet Combat Squirrel!!! (I used to not pay attention in classes in high school and college... as you can see, nothing changes....)
- A warrior raccoon staring defiantly down the gullet of some beastie ready to devour him. My friend Wally suggested this one to me (although his original idea was better). Forgive me, folks; my first upload of the year wasn't considered furry enough. I hope this one's a bit more obvious.
- Lookit! I've uploaded something! How long has it been...? Well over a year, I'm sure. But that's okay. Here's a sneak peak at one of my newest projects. He's an unassuming physics professor with a bizarre little secret. The name? Ebeneezer "Eb" E. Dermis. Get it? "Eb E. Dermis?" Epidermis? He's a flea! Whee! (cough)
- Sorry I haven't updated lately; LOTS of stuff going on at work. But just to prove I'm still alive, here's another "Zoo Trek" pic, this time the cast of "Deep Farce Nine." The Zoo Trek Confusium is temporarily on hold whilst I finish my newest online project... MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
- Here's an old unfinished picture I did about a year ago of a dragon mourning its slain mate. Originally, there were supposed to be tons of slain human and demihuman bodies cluttered around the ground, but, alas I never got around to it. Hopefully, this still conveys the same effect.
- Oi... so much has happened since I last uploaded. The archive changed its name, I moved to a new apartment, entire extinct species fossilized.... Just to prove I'm still alive, here's a pic I'm sketching for a colleague at work. It's a tatoo design, no less....
- We're allowed one RL picture, right? Well this ought to scare all the kiddies out there. Since I never got a nameplate for my cube at work, I drew this sign my first week at work and it's been hanging out there ever since. It's probably the most accurate self-portrait I ever did. No, I usually don't stick my tongue out when I code, though.... (This picture was ultimately published in a newsletter at work, July, 1998. Don't know if that makes me "published" or not....)
- Yet another tribute that I haven't asked permission to do first. Valiant warrior Kobe, the Tin Soldier, poses before thrusting into battle, not knowing it would be this day that fate would claim his left leg from him.... Tin Soldier is © the incredibly kewl Squee Rat, whose art I find fresh, original, and intriguing.
- "Macavity's a Mystery Cat, he's called the Hidden Paw--For he's the master criminal who can defy the Law. He's the bafflement of Scotland Yard, the Flying Squad's despair; For when they reach the scene of crime--Macavity's not there!" Macavity, the Mystery Cat, from Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Eliot
- Ah... There's nothing like that sinking feeling when you PC crashes for no apparent reason... and it's always worse when it's your machine at work, where you have to put in a work order and wait for days (or worse, weeks) for it to get fixed. Fortunately, when this happened to me a few days ago, I faired in better shape that this poor guy. Wish I had his office chair, though....
- Another Wally inspired pic. It's Nanook, the Eskimo warrior wolf, and his polar bear mount! (Blame Wally for the name.) I wanted to keep the background very clean and empty. Snow's white, you know...
- Those unstoppable Newshounds Kevin and Renata encounter the unscrupulous Sam Spaniel in an unspecified alley. Newshouds are © the unfathomable Thomas K. Dye, and Sam Spaniel is © the inexplicable Me. (Shoulda asked permission first, I supposed. Hope ya don't mind, Thomas!)
- I haven't uploaded anything sci-fi, and unfortunately, this isn't very, but at least it's a little. A couple of space "pi-rats" (you *know* I couldn't turn down the pun) looking for trouble.
- An original pic I made specifically to upload to the SCFA. A mouse, squirrel, and rabbit of yesteryear getting ready to fight. Don't know who they're fighting, but I sure wouldn't want it to be me.
- Yeah, it's been a month and a half since I uploaded AGAIN, but this time I have a legitamite excuse. I got married, went to Disney World, ate snails... Anyhoo, for the two of you who may have missed me, here's a bunch o' Sam Spaniel doodles. Whee!
- Yerf's back up! Yipee skipee! Well, I've been one busy puppy since Yerf went down, and sadly it hasn't been drawing furry stuff. On the up side, it's been lots o' kewl stuff. I'll be launching my new comic strip web site on Nov. 2. (Watch my readme for details.) Here's me frantically using my new art desk, whipping out drawings for my new site. Stand back, or you might get hurt!
- Finally (wow, three at once), here's a tribute to everyone's favorite alley cat. Hey, Gene! Sam tried to draw a picture of you, but... well... it didn't turn out all that good. Forgive this ol' hound dog if he can't hold a candle next to you. Keep on drawin', Geners! We all love your work!
- One of the wonderful surprise joys I received after getting married (besides my wonderful wife) was her cat. When ever I sit down at the computer, within five minutes, she's in my lap, purring as loud as possible. I've never had a cat be so affectionate to me! So here's one for my little Randi, from her "Daddy." (I hope her "Mommy" likes it too!)
- A toony dog I came up with a few years back. "Name's Spaniel... Sam Spaniel, Private Eye." Needless to say, he never took his job too seriously. His partner was a blonde human woman (non-toon, ala "Roger Rabbit"), but of course she doesn't pass the furry criteria. I have a colored pencil version of this, but it too was on lined paper and the lines couldn't be removed as easily.
- For the one or two of you who may actually remember Sam Spaniel (from samspan.gif; that includes you, too, Mom...), here's a slightly updated picture of him with his human partner, Sadie Hawkins. This was a quickie, so you can see how they look together. Which reminds me...
- ... Here's Sam, all spiffied up thanks to the wonders of Paint Shop Pro (some of us can't *afford* Photoshop :P). I finally realized that I don't really have a furry personae yet, and I'm seriously considering making Sam "it." (Apocalypse Pete, my other online alias, isn't furry; scruffy, but not furry.) Whadda y'all think?
- Detail of a larger pic I never had the time nor heart to finish. But he looks pretty good by himself. I know he's not furry (as in covered by fur), but he's still "furry." Hey, lizards need love too,... but I wouldn't wanna try hugging *this* guy.
- Kudos to Rat and Sully for saving the day... *again*! Before this picture was bombed, it was sort of a "thank'y" to Kevin J. Dogg for the nice pic about my GPF comic strip and Rain's "Ozzy and Millie". Of course, he forgot one important other strip... his own, Newshounds! Since the return tribute pic stunk (I deleted it off my hard drive), here's the main character to a brand new *TOP SECRET* comic strip idea I'm developing. Enjoy!
- I was quite bored watching "Johnny Bravo" last night, and this was the result. My fiancee accuses me of clothing all my female characters in vacuum-sealed spandex; somehow, I think she's right. But I think this kitty's having too much fun to care.
- Sorry for the quality of this one; it was drawn on newsprint (spew...). Here's a group of "super-furs" I once designed but never got around to doing anything with. Another old pic, maybe as much as four years. I've improved since then, but you can't tell it from this one.
- One of a series of fantasy pics for world I was creating. I really enjoy this one, because I like the "crocodile" mage on his perch. Unfortunately, I did this on lined notebook paper, and the lines are visible. But they don't detract too much. Take a good look at the spell components in the background; you might find a surprise or two.
